Advanced Registry
Tracer]
|

ElcomSoft’s
Advanced Registry Tracer
2.1, or ART for short, is
designed to give you full control of your
computer’s registry locally and remotely.
Advanced Registry Tracer analyzes changes
made to your registry, which can be
caused by installing or uninstalling
programs. ART lets you roll back unwanted
changes, thoroughly clean up improperly
placed registry entries, and identify
hard-to-find tweaks.
Provided as a convenience, ART lets you save
snapshots of your registry, through which you
can browse through for each change made by
programs on your computer, hardware
installations, or system setting tweaks.
Advanced Registry Tracer does not take its name
lightly. It even lets you create your own
personalized database of system and software
tweaks.
With the remote computer access, ART allows you
to efficiently install the same software to
multiple machines on a network with ease. The
process is simply installing on one machine,
and then copying that registry entry to all the
other machines on the network.
ElcomSoft’s Advanced Registry Tracer version
2.1 includes unspecified updates, enhancements,
and bug fixes. It is compatible with all
versions of Windows, and has a 30-day trial
that comes with an annoying “purchase now”
screen.

Whatever I
did, I could not make this
application show the difference
between two snapshots of my
Registry. It keeps displaying
"Sources have no difference"
error. |

It can also
be very useful to install apps that
don't have an option to install
silently. |

I've been very happy with
Elcomsoft's Advanced Registry
Tracer. It allows you to create
backups of your registry, which it
compares. The results are made
quite clear...it displays two
columns (one for the previous and
one for the current) that list
every difference that exists. The
results are then lined up so that
if an extry used to exits, it's
displayed in the left column, and
there is a blank space in the
right. |
